"I am...Therefore I think"

I was thinking today, following the weekend, just how short our time here on earth is. I found myself thinking 'what will be the result of my time on earth, what am I going to achieve through my 80 odd years as a human 'bean' (as I thought the term was for more than half my life). Am I the only freak that thinks these things? What about you?

No, I think those things sometimes. You're not the only freak! :) I guess all we can do is live in the moment, because if you're always aiming for something greater still to come, then you miss the here and now. And isn't that what it's all about? All the little moments? I'd rather be remember for all the little things in each day, than just one big accomplishment. If you impact no one, then what was the point? It's all about relationships.

I thought 'it' was all about eternity/heaven as home/eternal praise of God etc etc? I guess it depends on perspective. I hear you Ludi, the journey is definitely important.

But if it was only the destination that mattered, not the journey, why would we be here? Wouldn't God have created us as perfect beings in heaven? Why bother with all this earth stuff? We are to impact others as He planned for us to do. We are here for a purpose, not to waste time until we get to heaven. I think it is about being in God's will in the moment.

One thing we can put on your gravestone in 2078 -

"His kitchen was almost complete"

that hurts Rev, it really cuts deep. The kitchen will be finished by 2078. In fact.according to my life plan, it will be finished by 2076. So put THAT on my grave stone.....if i was dead.....*lets out a long drawn out sigh*

its good to see a youth supremo (at least thats the title that i was told you had) doing some forward planning. if that ever catches on maybe you can bring that end date forward a touch.

Planning? What is this planning you speak of?

don't you worry your head about planning ludi... It's what people do when they've finished at uni.
