The Gospel According to.....

Last night at church we started a new series on Marks Gospel. I think I am looking forward to going through a whole book with our guys. I am getting increasingly worried that we don't know our bibles well at all (me included). I think we have somehow missed the gap between Sunday school 'bible stories' and a full and real understanding of the scriptures. (at least for kids that grew/grow up in the church) I wonder why that is?

because we stopped listening?

because the church decided to focus on other things?

because no-one put in the effort to make sure the right information was being conveyed?

all of the above?

I'm not sure, perhaps we feel more comfortable sharing the bible with younger kids because we feel more free with them, there is less chance of being judged. Perhaps it's a self protection thing?

i think you are both very insightfull people....not incitefull people, that is totally different. my next question is, can we do anything about it?
